Boney Fields: The Scene in Their Veins
Boney Fields belongs to that generation of African American artists born to take the stage by storm.
A devotee of the funky, urban sound he helped create right on the streets of Chicago, he is the heir to a long tradition that has continually reinvented itself and embraced new influences without ever losing sight of its roots.
He seamlessly blends funk and blues—two facets of the same Great Black Music—drawing on the expertise gained from a career spent performing on stages around the world alongside legendary musicians such as Lucky Peterson, Luther Allison, James Cotton, Buddy Guy, Liz McComb, as well as George Clinton, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, and Bootsy Collins.
Far from the glitz and glamour of show business, it was on stage that Boney Fields learned his craft and honed his art. It was there that he forged his own style—a retro-futuristic blend of soul and brass-infused blues-funk. He brings this unique aesthetic to life both on record and on stage.
Entertaining the audience isn’t just their calling—it’s their art. Wherever Boney Fields & his Band go, they leave behind a trail of high-energy, exhilarating excitement.
