About

EDITH NYLON – THE COMEBACK

Long after their legendary concert at the Palace, the pioneering band of the French New Wave is back on stage with a new album and a stunning cover of an Edith Piaf song.

Reunited in 2019, this punk band with visionary lyrics delivers a hard-rock sound and hits the mark with its catchy melodies and socially conscious messages. This is your chance to rediscover their timeless hits (Femmes sous cellophane, Johnny Johnny, Edith Nylon), succumb to their post-punk sound, and hear Mylène Khaski’s spellbinding voice as she covers “Non, je ne regrette rien”: great moments of rock await.

FLASHBACK

1977: The band was formed in Paris by four high school students: Mylène Khaski on vocals, Zaco Khaski and Laurent Perez on guitar and bass, and Albert Tauby on drums. Inspired by The Clash, Magazine, and The Cure, as well as Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones, they became the leading band of the French New Wave.

1979: Thanks to Patrice Fabien, they signed with CBS (Sony) and kicked off their career with their debut album, Edith Nylon, which was enthusiastically received by both the public and the press. In October, they played to a sold-out crowd at the Palace in Paris

1980: The band recorded their second album at Wessex Studios in London, while The Clash were recording *Sandinista* in the neighboring studio. They invited Mick Jones to sing on “Johnny Johnny” and Topper Headon to play percussion …

1981: Edith Nylon opened for Police at the Bataclan for a historic concert!

1982–1983: Release of the album “Echo Bravo” and final tour in France

2019: The band reunited, revisited their old songs, and, following a sold-out debut concert at Le Petit Bain in Paris on January 17, 2020, recorded a new album, *La fin de la vie sauvage*, which was released in late 2021 and distributed by Believe.

2023–2024: The band then returns to the stage with concerts at Le Trabendo in Paris, in Nantes for the "Rockeurs ont du cœur" festival, at the Zénith in Nancy as the opening act for Placebo in 2024, followed by the Retro C Trop festival on June 30, 2024, and the Francofolies de La Rochelle on July 13, 2024

2025: A festival tour is in the works
